Coach's Corner
Tips and Tricks

1. Never Throw the ball at a Base Runner unless it is absolutely necessary (running towards home).
2. When running the bases keep eye contact with your base coaches and do what they say.
3. Always communicate in field. If you don't have a play on the ball, call out "NO". If you feel you have the best position to catch the ball, call out "MINE". The first person to call for the ball gets it.
4. When a teammate calls for a ball or it is obviously going towards them, put yourself in postion a few feet behind them in order to "back them up" on the catch.
5. The same goes for basemen; back them up when a throw is heading towards their base. This means the right fielder should be running in back up first base on every ball not headed into right field!
6. Never hold on to the ball. If you've caught it throw it in to either the next base a runner may be advancing towards or the pitcher. Runners may not advance when the pitcher has the ball on the mound.
7. Remember to stretch! Kickball consists of a lot of standing around, interrupted by short bursts of physical activity.
8. Most importantly, drink beer and have fun!
