History

Did you know the history and the words of the De Pere High School Fight Song?

Hail to De Pere High,
Hail to sons of fame and glory,

Never to forget
All the joyous times
we've had.
U-rah-rah!

Fight, fight with all your might;
Fight to keep the colors flying,

Hail to your school so dear;
We pledge ourselves to thee.

Our fight song was arranged by Mr.Clare Hounsell, a former band teacher. The song was arranged in 1964 in less than two days. He decided to write and compose the school song because none of the schools in the conference had an original song. He also felt that this was a song that the band could play and could play well. Mr. Hounsell also helped arrange all the school songs in the conference for the same reasons. The original title of our the school song was NC4. NC4 stood for the first trans-oceanic plane. The song was given this name to honor the NC4 airplane.
